Marriage and the President

I was disturbed by the President’s comments today about gay marriage.  It wasn’t because he is in favor of gay marriage.  Everyone with half a brain already knew that.  I was disturbed that he said it was his Christian faith that led him to the position.  “We (he and his wife) are both practicing Christians and obviously this position may be considered to put us at odds with the views of others but, you know, when we think about our faith, the thing at the root that we think about is, not only Christ sacrificing Himself on our behalf, but it is also the Golden Rule – treat others the way you want to be treated.”

Of course the obvious question is, “Does that apply to unborn babies?”  I guess he hasn’t evolved to practicing his idea of the Christian faith there.

I say “his idea of the Christian faith” on purpose.  A “practicing Christian” says, “Jesus is Lord.”  That statement means what His Word says, goes.  We don’t get to evolve to positions of our own preference and call it love.

Unfortunately, many Christian are caught in this kind of deception which is why I posted an article I wrote a while back, The Open-Minded Deception.  Please read it below.

God bless,

    Hey Mike,
When you quoted him I was thinking the same thing yesterday.

You asked him if it was the same for ‘unborn’ babies… well did you see my post where he voted against the born alive infant protection act 4x as a Illinois senator.

When caught in these crossroads he ‘creates’ varying answers and just says ‘ let me be perfectly clear….’

    Good stuff… keep it coming!
